About

I work independently as an academic writing coach and editor, assisting graduate-level writers in planning, organizing, writing, revising and editing manuscripts for submission.

My work experience includes fourteen years of teaching at the University of Kansas where I have designed and taught a variety of interdisciplinary courses in writing, literature, film, society and culture. I have worked in the English, German, American Studies/Sociology Departments, the McNair Scholars Program, the Applied English Center and the Graduate Writing Program. I have also worked as a translator for an extensive Holocaust documentation project at the University's Hall Center for the Humanities (German to English).

I have earned my doctorate in American Studies from the University of Kansas. My dissertation is an interdisciplinary, oral history project on memories of WWII for which I conducted and analyzed German-language interviews with German former prisoners of war who were in U.S. captivity.

My education also includes a Master’s degree in American Studies from the University of Kansas, with special emphasis on African American Cultural Studies and Gender and Sexuality Studies. I have also earned my BA and completed the Master’s program in English and German Philology.
